"The Soul Catcher" - Alex Kava.

Post by Little John »

I was a bit disappointed at first because I chose it from our bookshelf not knowing it was another detective story. I had just finished A Mark Billingham DC Thorne book and really didn't feel up to another of the same type but this was quite different.

There was far more emphasis on the characters. Who they were. what was going on in their lives etc. The story was - Hmmmm....not sure whether to say "good" or "ok" but I enjoyed it. I got confused by who was who and who was doing what to whom for a while which I think may have been slightly deliberate to put you off of guessing who actually did "dunnit" but I did work it out before the end although I had changed my mind a few times before then.

I suppose if I have to read another detective, I might go for Maggie O'Dell over DC Thorne but I think I still prefer Rebus.
Yes this is the real "Little John" (or it could be "colin")
