The Whistler - John Grisham (Ok)

Post by Little John »

I did hover over my rating for this one, trying ti decide if it qualified for a "G" for good but, in truth, it wasn't one of my favourites. It was, ok.

Lacy and her partner, Hugo, work for the Florida Bureau of Judicial Conduct who's job it is to keep judges in line. They are approached by an ex lawyer and ex con with a case about a corrupt judge in the pay of a,crime syndicate running a casino on an Indian reservation.

For me, it was slightly disappointing. I was hoping for more of the newer Grisham, the painted house Grisham but got more of the old Grisham of "The Firm". Good story, lots of plot but with a wishy-washy ending and not a lot of descriptive writing. It got the pages turning alright. Easy read but not a fulfilling one.
Yes this is the real "Little John" (or it could be "colin")
