The Rooster Bar - John Grisham (G)

Post by Little John »

Mark and Todd are law school students entrapped by student debt. Their friend Gordy, is engaged to his childhood sweetheart but desperate to get out of the arrangement. Gordy is bipolar and off his medication and raving about a law school scam run by a billionaire who he blames for a good part of his predicament.

Mark and Todd cant see any way out. The debt is way beyond their ability to pay and the promised easy job availabilty a lie. So they drop out and set up an illegal Law firm, practising without licences.

They persuade their friend Zola to join them but Zola's mind is preoccupied by her family, illegal immigrants from Senegal, who are about to be deported.

It takes a while to get going with a heavy emphasis on the law school debt scam that is shockingly common in the US. Once the ball starts to roll, the plot turns into a typical Grisham plot to outwit the Establishment.
Yes this is the real "Little John" (or it could be "colin")
