Part way through "Dear Bill Bryson" by a young fella called Ben Aitken. It is an unapologetic Bill Bryson copy but he's humour is slightly too young for me.

I have no book to read as it is still in the car and actually belongs to the book group. :O

That's a bit of a bugger. Do you think you'll ever see it again?

Yes I read the book when we were on holiday and felt it could have been written by our first born. That is if he could write a book. Ben does not have the experience of life.

Re: What are you reading at the moment?
Having just found you guys again after getting an e-mail today about your update, I DID track down the TV series on KixkAss Torrents, and it is as good as I remember it.Fork Me wrote:The book is a LOT better than the film, they toned a lot down for the film (in the book, they have 7 year stages, so you're a child in the nursery from 0-7, a free adult having fun from 7-14, and expected to work and reproduce from 14 -21. You are killed on your 21st birthday.
The book is more violent than the film, explains a lot more about how society got like that then the film, has a lot more emotion than the film and has a much better (and completely different) ending than the film. I'll say no more on that because I don't believe in spoilers.
Having said all that, I do remember absolutely loving the spin off TV series as a youngster, maybe I should try and track it down now...

Our youngest has a Netflix account and you can register a number of other users under your name. We watched a lot whilst in Lanzarote this year. And they had some other system that allowed you to watch all sorts of British TV stuff. Can't remember what it was. Wasn't youtube or netflix.

There's loads of systems out there, many are addons for Kodi. I watch so little TV I tend to just download what I want to watch as torents or use YouTube.
At the moment I;m working my way through a load of old stuff I used to like.

It starts really well but I'm losing interest a bit now. It just seems to go on and on and on. But there are exciting bits.

Re: What are you reading at the moment?
I'm currently reading extracts from a book my ex-stepfather is attempting to publish, I'd offer it up for your delectation but it's a hard copy and I'll be buggered if I'm going to go scanning it all, especially as I have a suspicion that there's a better use for all that paper rather than reading it.

I've tried scanning as a pdf and text but I'm getting invalid file extension when I try to upload it.
