Mark Field "manhandles" woman protester

Post by Little John »

I was initially in agreement with my mate, Peter Bottomley. Your woman had no right to expect to be allowed to stay and disrupt the meeting. So it was reasonable to ask her to leave and if she refused, to use reasonable force to eject her.

But. Would he have acted exactly the same had it been a man? I doubt we would have seen the same thing if the protester had been a bit bigger and stronger.

The first time I saw it, it looked like assault. Next day it still does. I know things can be edited and framed and she may have over exaggerated her reaction to his shove but he is a public figure and it’s still assault.

It looks worse in the still picture than the video. I agree with Victor that something had to be done, but it was the look on his face and the ineffective hold on her that seemed more about putting her in her place than efficiently removing her.

That would appear to be the case but they did have the right to physically eject her , I see no assault for that reason as no excessive force was used .

Security had the training to evict her. He is an idiot if he thought this wouldn’t go against him.

I wonder how quick he'd have been to respond if it had been a knife wielding terrorist.
