Are you browsing the forum as a guest?

If so, you wont be able to tell much about the board because a lot of what goes on goes on in the member's sections. 'nothing sinister, its just that because it is quite a small community (at the moment) it tends to get a bit parochial. But its actually very comfortable and friendly (once you learn to take SRD and Giron (when he is here) with a pinch of salt.)

Mostly reports of what people are doing and what the weather is like. Really like a general chat thread. We do have other stuff but because there are not so many members, the trivia stuff is a bit slow. the book forum (The Library) has only one main contributor, me, and I've been too busy decorating to read much lately. But its still a better book forum than T's (which no longer exists)

And, as you might be able to tell, we are still experimenting - three forums on.

I haven't read anything since October, I've just been too busy!

I got given a WH Smith token for my birthday so I'll have to buy a new book and start posting myself!

Well, there's the rub. I used to get a lot of ideas from the Tiscali book forum. Now that's stopped I don't really know. What about you?

(Happy Birthday again, by the way)

To try varying my reading Ive just taken to picking up random books (from ones on special offer) if I like the look of the cover, and if I dont mind the blurb on the back I buy it. So far the 6 Ive bought like this I have all really enjoyed despite being ones I wouldnt have usually have looked at. And Ive learnt some new things too which is a bonus :D

I've just finished reading all the Harry Potter books, which I found surprisingly good (expect you've already read them, but if not, and you enjoy a bit of fantasy and adventure, they are hard to beat)

I've just read that post and reminded myself about the book token, you know I've no idea what happened to it?

I enjoyed the Harry Potter books too - I bet the publisher who rejected the first one is really kicking himself !

I wonder if he had a job with Decca back in the 60s?
