The Behn Quartet

Behn Quartet
Wiltshire Music Centre
7th February 2018

An excellent lunchtime concert from the Behn quartet, four extremely talented young women who seem to enjoy playing the music even more than we enjoy listening to it.
They opened with a delightful rendition of Haydn's Quartet in D Major "The Lark". But the delicacy and sweetness of the Hadyn belied the strength of this band, they finished the set with Ravel's String Quartet in F Major played with all the verve and strength of far more seasoned players. In between was Shostakovich's Two Pieces for String Quartet where the tightness of the playing really presented the music perfectly.
The following clip wasn't played but I think it shows both the bands superb musicianship and their joy in making the music.

Children are like Slinkys - not much use for anything, but it always brings a smile to your face when you throw them down the stairs. Chinchilla

That must have taken quite a bit of practice.
Yes this is the real "Little John" (or it could be "colin")
