Spitting tacks ....

Post by SRD »

... as YT requires me to enter my credit card details (which they admit they keep on record) in order to prove my age as being suitable to watch the opening clip of 4 weddings and a funeral which was rated in the UK as 15.

Hang on. By "YT" you mean Youtube? Youtube wants credit card details? That is outrageous and totally new to me!
Yes this is the real "Little John" (or it could be "colin whose birthday is the day after mine)

It doesn’t. I think it’s a scam or spoof site.

The smart tv app declares that there is premium content and there is a card detail part but it can be bypassed, obviously you wouldn't be able to access prepaid stuff then .

Ok, I think it’s the real site but you aren’t signed in. I am always signed in so never get that message but they have never asked me for credit card details. I did, however, have some videos up at one stage.

To me, that has only ever asked me to sign in. I've never found anything so compelling to need to sign in to watch though,

It used to be restricted to 10 minute videos. I remember watching an old Comic Strip episode in three segments years ago. Now we've watched whole films. But increasingly they are interupting things with adverts unless you pay for their premium service.

I was signed in and had complied with previous requests to state my age. I can watch mm's clip with no problems.
