"Banned" banner
I know that on some forums I have been a member of, that badly behaved posters (in the eyes of the mods - like Giron/Itsme) have been banned for varying lengths of time. In the old lineone/tiscali/talktalk forum (not a phpbb). Banned members were labelled as such during the duration of their ban. The question is, is there a facility on phpbb boards to add the word "banned" on the members lists, profiles and posts?
Some people on the Duome language forum would like to understand and see why an old member has ceased to post for a while. I have "banned" one of my test members and nothing show up to say they were banned

Yes this is the real "Little John" (or it could be "colin")

I believe that you create a group called "banned" and put the member in there.

I saw that. But when I did a test on a fake member, there was no publicly visible indication that they had been "banned" .
The reason I ask, is that some of the natives are revolting on the duome.eu forum because a popular member has disappeared suddenly and it transpires that they had been banned and no one knew..
You might be pleased to know that the experts on the phpbb help forum gave the same answer as you. You old genius.

Re: "Banned" banner
The bit that says member or mod etc in the mini profile on post just change it to banned
It's a rank not a group so you change it in the ranks bit .
I'm onthe telling bone so awkward to find just for now as I haven't touched it since simons was altered .
p.s. you still need to use the ban procedure as well seeing rank is just a symbol .
