I have heard Maher get praise from conservatives because he actually thinks about and meaningfully engages people of other opinions, instead of repeating party line talking points that have no basis in fact.

I remember when almost no one had home computers. Many of the early commercials suggested getting a computer to keep track of your budget, inventory your household items, keep track of food inventory for meal prep--and one and on. Those early commercials tried to get people to do things on a computer that they may have done well enough with a few notes in an appointment book/calendar--doing a thorough job with a computer took more time, not less. Now that so many people at least have a smart phone, we are getting overloaded with apps. I don't want another app for every fast food place, nor do I like the idea that I can't get a discounted price on a food item because I am unwilling to pay for it with an app. I don't want my phone to be able to drain money from my bank account.

I like the RI--Reverse Improvement bit,

Excellent.

And I know what he means in many of the things he talks about.
