Local roundabout closure
The Monktonhead roundabout is closed until Monday morning. I forgot to say.
The drivers with local knowledge are using the village as a way of avoiding the diversion.
Unfortunately that means a constant stream of traffic at the push-me pull-mes.

Re: Local roundabout closure
I'm guessing that "push-me pull-me" is a single lane road that is not one way.
Of course I'm athletic, I SURF the internet daily!

Re: Local roundabout closure
It's a two lane road that they have turned into one lane by putting concrete bollards to weave in and out of with alternate priority arrows.

Re: Local roundabout closure
They've got similar obstructions in some big towns, to slow down traffic.

Yes but we're a one horse village...
The cottage on the right side of the photo is the reason we have about 10 of these. They complained that lorries driving past were shaking their walls and they basically wanted lorries banned. Of course that didn't happen but the bollards were out in place along with a 20mph speed limit in the entire village.
Now, ask me if the lorries still go through...
There have been about ten accidents since they were put in place because if you hit one it completely destroys the underside of your car.
