What are you reading at the moment?
I'm reading a book called "The Heart Shaped Box" a ghost horror story. But I started a thread like this over at Tiscali years ago because it gave people an opportunity to just talk about books in general rather than just doing reviews.

Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger but I've only read 4 pages and I'll be picking up the new book club book tomorrow night.

Have you tried the library? I know they are cutting down at the moment but I think they still have a few books to borrow.noescape wrote:having finished reading A Compromising Position by Carole Matthews (see sign in sheet for more info) I am currently undecided what to read next as I cant buy any more books at the moment
Children are like Slinkys - not much use for anything, but it always brings a smile to your face when you throw them down the stairs. Chinchilla

My book club is run by the library. It's great. I wouldn't have chosen any of the books otherwise.

And what else did Audrey Niffenegger write? Was it the Lovely bones or the Time Travellers wife or something? I'm sure I've read something by her.

Really? I've just started "The Magicians Guild" which is part of a trilogy. Quite like it so far.

yes, my husband gave me it, its called read the bible in a year. Each day contains a reading from the Old Testament, a reading from the New Testament, and a psalm. Its a bit confusing to be honest because its jumping around a bit.
I have also just started Marian Keyes - Rachel's Holiday for the umpteenth time (its a great book)

Finished the Magician's Guild and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just started "Marks of Cain" by Tom Knox which seems quite intriguing. Nice bit where the hero discovers he has just inherited $2 million and tells his boss where to stick his job.

finished Elephant Song by Wilbur Smith and just started "The Appeal" by John Grisham. I remember this coming out in hardback and being on the shelf of WH Smiths in the airport when we were on our way to Lanzarote in 2008. I think.
